I will begin by saying that pot racks have been used as far back as the 1400's. Back then pot racks were mainly used by lower income families because the kitchens in their homes were small with little to no extra space. These early versions of pot racks were hung on hooks from either the ceiling or one wall in the kitchen. There also were versions that were tripods with hooks for pot and pans, which were placed in one corner of the kitchen floor.

Additional TipsOther ways to improve cooling include using blanking panels to manage air flow efficiency, selecting a rack with built-in channels for better cable management and improved air flow, and removing any obsolete or unnecessary equipment from the rack. In addition, consider that 3-phase power can significantly increase available amperage into the server rack, reducing theoverall number of PDUs needed to power equipment and leaving more space for airflow.

Heavy Duty Construction vs. Lightweight ConstructionA ladder rack may be light enough to facilitate quick, on-the-spot setup, or it might be of a more heavy-duty construction in order to bear the greatest possible load. Ladder racks that feature lightweight construction are not necessarily less strong, however -- technology has enabled manufacturers to produce lighter-weight racks with comparable load capacities in order to facilitate easier setup, particularly on quick-setup racks.
